BLM Technologies’ John Tauer Honored with ESGR Patriot Award

Minneapolis, Minn. – February 25, 2019 – BLM Technologies, a leading single-source provider of complete technology solutions, today announced that John Tauer, vice president of Sales at BLM Technologies, was honored with a Patriot Award from ESGR (Employer Support of Guard and Reserve) in recognition of exemplary support of an employee in the National Guard and Army Reserve. Tauer received the award on February 25, during a ceremony at BLM Technologies’ headquarters in Minneapolis.

Tauer was honored with the Patriot Award for his support of a BLM Technologies employee whose spouse is a service member. Nicole Gottwaldt, a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force Reserve, is the wife of Jeff Johnson, director of Commercial Audio-Visual Solutions at the company. Johnson is responsible for all of the family’s needs during Gottwaldt’s current deployment to Kuwait, which began in January 2019.

“The Patriot Award is a significant honor given to civilian employers who put their support for Military service members into action,” said Nick Swaggert, a representative from ESGR. Swaggert was also a Company Commander in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and knows firsthand the importance of employer support during deployments. “Having been overseas multiple times in my career, there is nothing more important to a service member than ensuring their family is taken care of while they’re gone. John Tauer and BLM have gone the extra mile with his support of Jeff and his family and this award is in recognition of that. As a military community we appreciate his and BLM Technologies’ support of the military by backing an employee whose spouse is one of our own.”

The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
